Foot and Ankle Deformities – Dr. Mangal’s Speciality Clinic

Foot and ankle deformities refer to structural or alignment abnormalities that affect the shape, function, and movement of the foot or ankle. These conditions may be present from birth or develop over time due to injury, arthritis, muscle imbalance, or improper bone growth. Common deformities include flat feet, high arches, clubfoot, bunions, hammertoes, and abnormal ankle alignment.

Types of Foot & Ankle Deformities

  • High Arches –The arch is excessively high, often leading to instability and pain
  • Clubfoot – A congenital deformity where the foot is twisted inward and downward
  • Bunions– A bony bump forms at the base of the big toe, causing misalignment
  • Hammertoes –Toes bend abnormally at the middle joint, creating a curled shape
  • Ankle Instability / Ankle Deformity –Abnormal alignment of the ankle due to injury or ligament issues
